Are you exhausted? Maybe you didn’t get enough sleep last night, but I’m talking about life—have you ever felt so tired that quitting seemed like the only option?
With our busy schedules, being pulled in every direction, burnout is real. Managing family, work, finances, and battling sin can leave us overwhelmed, exhausted, and even bitter.
For me, it shows up at home. I become short with my wife, impatient with my children, and operate from a place of low-grade anger. I know what’s happening, yet it feels like I’m on autopilot with missiles loaded.
So, what do we do when life feels out of control? Go to the source of peace.
Strength in the Lord
The Bible never hides life’s struggles, but it always points to hope. When we feel like giving up, God calls us to persevere. "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).
The world says to chase self-care and temporary relief, but Jesus says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). True rest is found in Him.
Pressing On Even When It’s Hard
Paul, writing from prison, knew hardship. Yet, he wrote: "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14).
Perseverance isn’t just pushing through—it’s fixing our eyes on Jesus.
When we rely on our own strength, we burn out. But when we lean on the Lord, His grace is enough. "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Encouragement for Today
If quitting seems easier, remember: "Be not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not" (Galatians 6:9). God sees your labor. He knows your struggles. He will provide the strength to keep going if you seek His will and humbly submit.
When life is overwhelming, don’t give in—go to the source. Spend time reading the Bible, pray, and surround yourself with believers who encourage you. God is faithful and will sustain you through any storm or trial.
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Press on, brothers and sisters. The finish line is worth it.
